Chiesa di S. Andrea
About
In 2021, I intervened on the lighting system of the Church of Sant’Andrea di Lamone with the aim of improving the perceived quality of the space, without altering its architectural and liturgical balance. The project focused on the themes of integration and discretion, through the use of fixtures installed on the walls, which are not perceivable from the assembly's point of view and are capable of restoring depth and articulation to the surfaces.
The light is distributed through a combination of direct, indirect, and accent emissions, designed to enhance volumes, materials, and religious symbols. The centrality of the visitor has been taken as a compositional reference, with the aim of ensuring visual comfort and coherence with the liturgical function of the space.
The system is managed through a system of luminous controls that allows for the creation of dynamic scenarios, from everyday functions to solemn celebrations, while ensuring both efficiency and flexibility. The design has respected existing technical and architectural constraints, returning to the church a measured and contemporary luminous identity.
