Piazza Tamanti
About
The particular shape and position of Piazza Tamanti make it a key element of the urban layout of Petritoli, a village of medieval origin surrounded by olive trees, mulberries and lush hills, as well as an important reference in defining the surrounding landscape.
In the project, I worked with the aim of creating an open and unified space in its overall perception, but capable, once experienced from the inside, of appearing intricate and dynamic. The square has thus been conceived as a sequence of sub-spaces with different qualities, functions, and ways of use.
Even at night, I wanted to convey a welcoming, bright atmosphere, almost “living room-like,” able to make people feel protected and safe thanks to appropriate levels of illumination. The use of high-efficiency light sources also allows for reduced energy consumption, ensuring a sustainable solution consistent with the context.
