Chiesa dei S.S. Martino e Bernardino
About
The external lighting project of the Church of Saints Martin and Bernardino was developed in full compliance with Swiss regulations against light pollution, a particularly sensitive issue in this area of the Canton of Ticino.
Every element of the intervention was designed with the aim of avoiding uncontrolled light spill. The pole-mounted fixtures are equipped with directed emission confined within the shape of the facades, along with specific optical accessories designed to protect areas that should not be illuminated. Even for the ground recessed lights, I selected fixtures with tempered glass, low power, and diffuse light distribution, in order to ensure a measured and respectful illumination.
I also provided a management and control system for the installation that allows for automatic shutdown at 10:00 PM, ensuring the protection of the environment and nocturnal life forms, without compromising the proper enhancement of the building during usage hours.
